Third trimester involved two things...growth and movement! Oh and heart burn... It seems like that's all that happened!
Movement: You are one squirmy little girl! And are very particular about your space. If I ever fold my arms and rest them on the top of my belly, I will soon get little kicks from you telling me to get off. Some days you never seem to stop moving! But in these later weeks, you have found a more steady sleep wake cycle but when you are awake, you are Moving! That means lots of weird bladder hits and lots and lots of rib jabs! Your feet love to be up in my right ribs! We fly to California to have Aunt Nicole come home from her mission and you either loved the plane or hated it! I have never felt you move so much in this entire pregnancy as you did on the plane ride! It was crazy how much you were squirmy!
Sleep: You are very particular about how I am able to sleep. Unfortunately, our snoring has only gotten worse and TJ is still on the couch :( Let's hope that changes once you get here and I stop snoring! You have for the majority of this pregnancy been on my left side, head down with your legs up in my right ribs. So when I go to sleep, I like to lay on my left side but you don't like your space crowded so you kick and kick and squirm and move until I will roll over to my right side. For a while, I had a rib out of place on the right side so it was a constant battle between you and my back for comfort which meant a lot of restless nights! I am getting up to pee on a schedule now. 12:30 am, 3 am and 5 or 6 am. Just getting me ready for our feedings huh? I am always tired it feels like and have sometimes indulged in a nap or two :)
Sickness: Oh the heart burn!!! It just kept getting worse and worse and worse! Finally, I switched to Prilosec which has been the angel of this pregnancy! If I forget to take it, it hits hard by the evening! So we make sure we don't forget our Prilosec. Dizzy spells have come back here and there especially if we don't have enough water in us. My feet are just now starting to swell a little bit by the end of the day (36 weeks). Other than that, we have stayed super healthy this pregnancy!
Food cravings: Just milkshakes and ice cream. Not in excess but I am always down for one and probably have ice cream or a milkshake 5 times a week!
Exercise: This has become limited in the last while as I have just been tired and with a growing belly, the bike has become squishy. We do go on walks but recently, there has been an increase of pressure in my hips and pelvis that I feel like I'm starting to waddle.

At 34 weeks, we flew home to California because Nicole got home from her mission! You either loved or hated the plane cause I have never seen you so active in all of this pregnancy. Especially on the flight home. Seriously thought you were gonna come out the side!
While at home we were spoiled with a beautiful baby shower! And everyone finally got to see that I was actually pregnant- the last two times I was home, I was nauseous laying on the couch and the second time at Christmas we had just found out you were a girl but still weren't showing.
My first mothers day with you in the belly!
Then my cousins on the Stevenson's side threw us another shower! Seriously baby girl! You are so spoiled! It was so fun to see everyone who came to love and support us during this new and exciting time!
Some pictures of TJ and I from when we were babies. We're just gonna have to wait to see what you look like baby girl!
Love this baby daddy of mine!
38 weeks on... About 38 +5 I have started cramping and just not feeling good. More pressure down there and always feeling like either my water is going to break or that my period is going to start type feeling. Baby has been moving non stop and big movements too. It's crazy to think that once I hit 38 weeks, baby girl could either come tomorrow or in 4 more weeks if I go 2 weeks over! Another MONTH!!! Hopefully stuff is progressing down there and we have some dialation and or effacement. Both would be nice. TJ predicted back in March that you would come on May 25th but alas you did not.
We're so glad you're coming during the summer so we can take you on all our summer adventures!
Week 39... I feel fine. No contractions. Just a ton of braxton hicks, which is nothing new as I have been having those for a lot of 3rd trimester. I was excited to start feeling crappy cause the midwives say that's a good sign but maybe I have felt better so I could walk more and deep clean my house which I did on 39 +2 days. So as of right now, we are into June and are just waiting for your arrival! We'll see if I get to take a 40 week picture :) My house is deep deep cleaned and everytime I do something like start the dishwasher or take a shower or eat dinner I think, hmm...this could be the last time I do this before I have this baby.
AND WE MADE IT TO 40 WEEKS!!!
40 weeks is here! I will admit that I am shocked we made it this far! Totally thought she'd come early! Guess I should have listened when everyone said plan to go at least two weeks over. Had an appointment today and was not even a cm dilated and only 70% effaced!!! Crazy crazy! I hope my body can do this! I would not want to be induced! I made an appointment today (Wednesday 40 weeks) with a lady who foot zones who puts people into labor within 24 hrs. ( I am writing this 40 week portion post delivery fyi) So we went to this foot zone lady and she worked me hard! We went home thinking it would be in the next 24 hrs! I got little to no sleep that night because I was so anxious and excited! Woke up in the morning and nothing...haha She was so surprised that she came back down to my house and worked on me some more! She left with me having contractions every 20 minutes apart. I took a nap and woke up and nothing. Everything had stopped! So she came back that night again and did a little more! And finally I realized that it's not my call. This is up to when she wants to come. Not me. So I made my peace and waited. Made it to another Sunday. Officially 6 days overdue. I had another appointment on Tuesday June 12th to see if I progressed at all and what would be the options. Have an appointment for 42 weeks to get induced. We'll see if you want to come before then or if you are just super comfy and don't want to come out. Mom and Nicole came into town on Sunday expecting a baby but we'll see. Hopefully she will come while mom is here so she doesn't have to miss seeing her!
A few of our last date nights before baby comes!
Caught a glimpse of myself in a bathroom at a store and thought "I am seriously pregnant" |
