Movin'

We moved!

TJ and I decided to add summer sales to our resumes. So we moved out to North Carolina for the summer to sell pest control.

We drove across country and made a trip of it stopping in TJ's mission and lots of other fun places! Here's a few photos from it:

First Stop: CHEYENNE WYOMING

Iowa was super foggy the first day

Town Square in Oskaloosa - one of TJ's area.

Windmill's being transported. They are HUGE!!!

My driver

TJ lived in this school in Burlington as a missionary.

Crossing the Mississippi

Pioneers

Printing Office in downtown Nauvoo

Joseph and Hyrum Smith in front of the Nauvoo Temple.

Nauvoo!

Got my first copy version of a Book of Mormon in Nauvoo! Felt close to the pioneers.

For some reason, Toyota decided to make a car without cruise control so TJ improvised with a theracane.

Carthage Jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith was killed.

We hit a really really really BIG storm going through Missouri. Let's just say I'm glad TJ was behind the wheel. I had to close my eyes for a lot of it. Kinda a scardy cat when it comes to storms in cars....

Perfect
Grand Ole Opry!

Downtown Nashville - Too bad we weren't there at night. It would have been fun to see. Got to see my good high school friend Kelley who lives in Nashville.

Then we headed to Georgia!
I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. We took an extra day to go visit where I grew up. I hadn't been back since I moved. We moved when I was 8 years old and going back was definitely a trip down memory lane. One thing I noticed was that everything was smaller. The hill we road our bikes down in the front yard was not as steep as I remember, the driveway was smaller, the block around the neighborhood was not as long and the creek wasn't as big.

At one point TJ said "I'm OD-ing on green." Welcome to the east coast baby!

My old house!

The Creek

My elementary school. I have such memories here! Loved this school!

WE MADE IT!!!!

And that folks was our trip across country! Not looking forward the to drive home...

  1. That drive is a loooooong one! Woof! But I'm glad you were able to make it fun! Kody and I have driven out to Virginia several times and always dream of taking our time and making stops- but also just want it to be over with so we just bust it out and drive over night. No stops. Just for gas. 😳 it's crazy. Haha
