For TJ's birthday we woke up super early, drove up out of the awful air to Rockport up past Park City. Our two friends Allie and Courtney came with us and little to say, it was a hoot! I love ice fishing!
When we were getting our equipment together, TJ mentioned that we needed to grab the tent.
"what tent?" "We fish in a tent?" "What?" "A tent."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I guess I imagined, well exactly what one would imagine who has never been ice fishing. Fishing in a tent. HAHAHA
Needless to say, we started out in the elements and then when the wind started to pick up, I was grateful we had the tent. It also made the ice holes look really cool.
Classic moments of the trip:
1. Getting warm by drilling holes
2. When the ice started warming up, the sound of the ice lurching and moving...got us every time.
3. Walking back to the car, the ice was a little slushy- but we didn't know that. Someone should have filmed us because it was classic. We fell in just to our shins but the feeling that we were actually going in was frightening. And I'm sure that our faces were even funnier. Especially when Allie went in right behind us. I think I laughed for the rest of the day and still thinking about it makes me laugh.
4. We got a ton of bites but almost caught one.
5. Getting out of the crappy air into much better breathable air.
This is awesome. What a cool adventure and birthday. I sure miss the snow and crisp air when i see your pics :) Im so happy your blogging!
